Kirstie Alley fundraiser for Spay-Neuter Kansas Inc.
It is a quiet Tuesday so I thought I would go back in time before I started blogging to show you some darling cupcakes we did a couple months ago. Kirstie Alley was back in town for Christmas and threw a fundraiser party for Spay-Neuter Kansas Inc. She is a big animal lover and donates her time and money to this organization. It is a non-profit pet clinic on South Hydraulic that offers discounted spaying and neutering of pets for people who meet low income guidelines. She asked me to do some cakes and cupcakes for the auction. She is a very creative person so I always love it when she calls. We did some wonderful vintage looking cakes and dog and cat cupcakes that she served and also auctioned some off to benefit the clinic. It was a fun night.

It was a busy Saturday

What a crazy Saturday. We were short a decorator and got a little behind on cake orders, so sorry, but thank you for your patience. One of my cake decorators, Shar, went on a cruise with her husband for their 40th wedding anniversary. Congrats to them!! We sure missed her, but hope she is having a wonderful time and getting a good tan! I am so envious!! Here is a cute cake that we did for a little boy's second birthday. I'm looking forward to all the fun cakes for the upcoming week.

First Birthday Cake!

I wanted to share this cute first birthday cake. We have done so many cute ones that I have decided to do a whole display at the bakery celebrating that important first birthday. They aren't done yet, I will keep you posted when we have them all ready. The designs on paper are adorable. I know we are doing a cake similar to this but with Curious George on top, can't wait to see that. I will share it with you when we are done. Back to a busy Friday!

I would love for you to follow along if you are too or just check it out if you haven't heard about this new way to keep in touch and follow along with other people. You can find me on www. twitter.com/cherisbakery. Hope you tweet along with me!!!
New cookies the showcase!

Hey, How cute are these! My talented cake decorators, Kalee and Kim, have come up with the cutest decorated cookies. They are our cut-out sugar cookies but detailed with buttercream icing in bright colors. We will have them in the showcase every day, or try, they have been flying out the door so far. Come check them out! They are bright and fun and, of course, taste fabulous too!!!

Fun Bowling Cake!

Check out this fun bowling cake we did for a little girls 5th birthday. The bottom tier is iced in buttercream icing and embellished with fondant bowling pins and letters. The ball is covered in a marbled fondant and finished with a fondant 5 and stars. Little Trista had a great centerpiece for her party!
